A Replacement to the Metaverse?

Is a shiny new toy here to take its place?

What’s up, MetaverseBay here.

We share what newcomers should know, what updates experts should know about, and what everyone may find interesting.

Let’s get down to it.

We appreciate the support!

This week we’re covering Artificial Intelligence.

Will it replace the metaverse?

Everyday it seems we somehow hear more and less about the metaverse at the same time.

Hype has died, but commercials, products, and more are continuously rolling out.

An addition to our newsletter is our Metaverse Liveliness Index.

It gives us an idea of public interest in the metaverse and how relevant it is at this moment in time.

We will publish a full length article expaining the breakdown and calculation.

This week we saw an upwards jump upwards in the index of 3 points.

While searh and social media trends were down by over 10%, the value of ETFs and metaverse tokens rose significantly.

This week we are touching on Generative AI.

This is part of artificial intelligence that can accomplish a variety of tasks.

From generative playable content to having converasations with humans, making images, and much more!

This has obvious potential in the metaverse and gaming industries to always have more playable content being made. AI powered NPCs can even fill the empty spaces.

Business can benefit as well by creating predictive models and more. (Check the link in NewsBay for more info.)

The “New” Metverse Is Here

There’s no doubt that the hype around the metaverse is dead but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some light at the end of the tunnel.

Generative AI has risen and taken a strong foothold in many industries and may even pave the way for the metaverse to rise and reach its full potential.

AI started out taking small, tedious tasks humans didn’t want to be bothered with, now, it is creating content, automating solutions, and coming up with creations indistinguishable from a human’s.

As these abilities continue to develop and technology improves to deliver a more seamless and higher-end experience, we may again see attention revert back to the metaverse.

This article goes into why Generative AI may replace the metaverse entirely.

However, we see things a little differently.

Nothing takes off on its first go around, look at computers, the internet, cell phones, and any other technology.

You have to crawl before you get to your feet and sales of Extended Reality is a growing industry with booming sales.

Give it a few years. More importantly, give it a try, be a fan.

It’s not dead, it’s surely alive!

Over time an interesting shift has occurred.

Content in the metaverse was originally intended to be entirely user made and driven. However, AI has seen a more and more prominent role.

If it can create content like a human, have it be indistringuishable from that of a human, and allow for there to be more and more experiences available, should it’s role be limited?

Humans are still free to create, monetize, and build anything they can imagine.

Luckily, many SDKs exist as well to assist even the least experienced creators in making something great.
